Day 2 Ramadhan - Stay at Home

"You will never always be motivated, you have to learn to be disciplined"

Self-Study Today: Problem Solving Interview Questions

Not all are impromptu speakers, some need to craft their answers beforehand to avoid loss of words.

Apart from the basic interview questions (tell me about yourself, etc), these are samples of problem solving related questions:

Q1) Describe a situation where you had to solve a problem. What did you do? What was the results? What might have you done differently?
(-Identify-Analyse-Implement-)

Q2) Give example of a situation in which you saw an opportunity in a potential problem. What did you do? What was the outcome?
(Problems are opportunities for improvement)

Q3) What steps do you take before making a decision on how to solve a problem? Why?
(Have formalized process that makes sense, not just asking for help the entire time.)

Q4) Give an example of a time that you realized a colleague had made a mistake. How did you deal with this? What was the outcome?
(How diplomatic are you, do you assist or just highlight the problem, how was the message conveyed)

Q5) Describe the biggest work-related problem you have faced. How did you deal with it?
(This is where they see are you gonna say something about previous employee, what do you consider as big problem)

Q6) Tell me about a time where you have been caught off-guard by a problem that you had not foreseen? What happened?
(-Calmness/Overreact?-Positivity/Complain/Blame?-Solutions-)

Q7) Describe a time where you developed a different problem-solving approach. What steps did you follow?
(-Take initiative-Outside box-)

Q8) Tell me about a time when you become aware of a potential problem and resolved it before it becomes an issue.
(Having a foresight is a good quality)

Q9) Describe a personal weakness that you had to overcome to improve your performance at work? How did you do it?
(No one is perfect, knowing your weakness shows that you acknowledge yourself, it also shows your willingness to improve. Take a self-awareness test or ask around about your weakness through others' perspectives.

Now some might say, "I don't have any idea how to answer, didn't have the opportunity to solve anything.", know that there will always be a problem that you've solved from time to time, although it's not related to decision making for the company. Just be creative with the answers.

Side note: Make it a habit to have a work journal and record daily work in points. It can be referred back when resume/CV needs to be updated or finding ideas to prepare for interview.

Eat to Live

Today's main course cooked is Ikan Steam

Remember yesterday's menu was Soto, it's usually eaten with sambal kicap.
If you don't feel like making the sambal, then opt for this;

Food for Thought

Remaining at home almost 24/7 can be overwhelming.
We can get carried away with inactivity or self-indulgence.
That's why daily habit tracker comes in handy to help us keep track of ourselves.
It's very flexible, you can design it however you like, have your own customize list.

Devise your own and attach it on the refrigerator.

Till then, my prayers for you and your family 🌷
