Day 12 Ramadhan - Stay at Home

"Brain power improves by brain use, just as our bodily strength grows with exercise"

Self-Study Today: Memory Technique

B: How's your progress with the new language?
A: Sometimes I'm thinking, I'm back to square one.

B: How are you trying to memorize those vocabs?
A: Writing it, reading it out loud, then the next few days...I'll forget

B: Don't you wanna try other techniques, like;
-associate it with the sound (in Arabic, al-ard means earth and it sounds almost similar),
-spelling (stalactite have C, it's on ceiling of the cave, stalagmite have G so it's on the ground)
-random thoughts (person in mandarin character, 'ren' looks almost like a stickman without a hand)
A: Nice, I'll try and look at it from a different angle, thanks.

Eat to Live

Today's main course cooked is Bolognese Spaghetti

Food for Thought

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

Only a number of poem managed to charm me.

Till then, my prayers for you and your family 🌷
